I went to Dutch National Opera to see LOHENGRIN, directed by M. Albrecht and staged by P. Audi, on 23 and 26 Nov.
This production premiered in 2002, generally beautiful staging. It is sophisticated, modern and has a bit of japanesque style.
You can see Noh-stage *1, Origami*2 and other japanese culture in this production.
but It's over my head that the swan is expressed as bundled many oars.
Best performance is Chorus of Dutch National Opera!
In this work, most important part is chorus. So, it is lucky we can hear such amazing one.
Noteworthy in the soloists are Michaela Schuster*3 and Evgeny Nikitin*4. Schuster has an extremely expressive and strong voice. Her performance fascinated me.
My most favourite singer, Evgeny Nikitin. Whatever production and with any costume, his noble voice and cool performance are not change.
Leading couple is lacking of fascinating, however this performance is fairly well done.

本日、Dutch National Operaから『ローエングリン』最終日のライブ放送があるのでお知らせ。
私は23日と26日の公演に行ってきた。
事前に舞台写真の使用許可をDNOにきいたところ、鑑賞記事を書いたら送ってくれと言われたのであわててこうして書いた次第。
ラジオ放送では舞台が見えないから、先にお伝えしておくべきこと。
合唱が素晴らしいことと、指揮者の牽引力がすごい。
主役カップルは残念ながら、モーツァルトソプラノ*5とワーグナーを歌うことはできるが、気品に欠け、小者感満載の白鳥の騎士だった*6。
ド迫力の悪役夫妻のおかげで、第二幕がすばらしい出来になっていた。
